GROOMING APPOINTMENTS CANCELLATION POLICY: All customers must provide a minimum of a 24 Hour prior notice of cancellation of their appointment. Non-emergency cancellations and no shows within 24 hours of the appointment will be charged 50% of the grooming appointment fee.
We hope that our store has everything you want and is different than the “box” stores out there. We aim to provide the best customer service that we can and are always willing to find products for you that we don’t carry!

Meet Our Team
Penny Murano bought the store, Abercrombie and Bridge in December 2006 from its founder Helen Lovejoy. In 2007, she changed the name of the store to Unleashed. Penny managed her first retail store at the age of 17 and went on to be a clothing buyer for Talbots and J. Jill. In 2001, she decided to have a change of career and opened Paw Play, a dog daycare in Southington, CT. In 2006, Penny and her husband Rob moved to New London full time and by chance, found out that Abercrombie and Bridge was for sale. A few remodels and a flood later, Unleashed is the store that we always wanted it to be. Penny recently received her Pet Nutrition Coach Certification from the North American Veterinary Community so she can help educate pet parents on how to feed a healthy and wholesome diet.
In September of 2020 our owner Penny and store manager Abbey have received their Pet Nutrition Coach Certification from the North American Veterinary Community. In March 2023, Penny became a Certified Pet Nutrition Specialist from DNM University.
Penny has a 14-year-old son and 2 dogs: Ruby a Weimaraner and Pickles the French Bulldog.
Abbey Clarke joined our team in January 2018 and was promoted to Store Manager in 2019. Abbey brings her excellent customer skills from her years of working at her family's retail business. Abbey is the "queen" of our delivery service which we started in 2018. She can be seen zooming all around our area in our newest delivery car "Corona". Abbey received her Pet Nutrition Coach Certification from the North American Veterinary Community in 2020. Abbey loves dogs and even has her special voice that she uses with all of the puppies that come in the store. Abbey has a Chocolate Lab/Weimaraner named Poppy.
Krissy Carlson joined our team in January 2022. She has great customer service skills and loves to share her knowledge of products with our customers. Krissy is always smiling and happy, a breath of fresh air! She was the missing piece that we have been waiting for and makes our team the best it can be! Krissy has 3 daughters; 4 dogs – Jinx (Border Collie), Marley (Border Collie Mix), Felix and Lila (Yorkie Mixes); 2 cats – Kit Kat and Luna, and a bunny named Juniper.

Penny and her staff are extremely helpful. I had been slowly trying to add some raw to my dogs’ diet. Penny and her staff are a great resource for this. When one dog’s normally soft coat suddenly got very coarse, I again sought answers at Unleashed. Penny suggested sardine toppers for the food. After just a few weeks, his coat was back to its shiny, soft self! Highly recommend Unleashed!
Went in because my new puppy wouldn't eat the food the breeder sent with her. After not eating for 24 hours I went in for help. The ladies were kind and helpful and recommended "Open Farm" chicken and salmon puppy kibble..Rosie carefully pikcked out the open farm and left the breeders in the dish. Great store!
My boy can be VERY skittish and doesn’t typically like strangers. I always warn new people to be really slow and watch closely to see how he reacts. He will usually put his head down. Kinda lean away and then Show his teeth when he’s nervous. He’s never actually bitten anyone because I watch him closely!! Or I just tell people to not try to pet him at all. I was nervous to go to a new groomer. He IMMEDIATELY loved Tori and she was wonderful with him. When I picked him up she was on the floor and he was laying there letting her love on him. What?!? I will get him groomed more often than needed just because he loved her soooooo much! Please don’t ever leave Tori!!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ No wonder they’re booked out so far. Already scheduled our next visit!!! And he looks great!!!!
